The Olde South Installation Process
Remove the Old Roof
Olde South Roof and Home always removes the old roofing system down to bare wood. Rotten and damaged decking must be replaced before a roofer installs the shingles and accessories.
Drip Edge Along the Eaves
Olde South Roof and Home uses f8 drip edge to ensure the gap between the fascia and the roofing deck is closed. Drip edge is used to help prevent water (and critters) for entering in the area between the fascia and the shingles.
Ice & Water Shield/Synthetic Felt

GAF Weather Watch (ice and water shield) is installed in valleys, around flashing, around roofing penetrations, and on low slopes. GAF Felt Buster (synthetic felt) is installed on the entire roof deck prior to shingles

This installation was GAF Timberline HD shingles (Mission Brown). First, a dedicatied starter course is installed along the eaves and rakes. Shingles are installed with 6 roofing nails/shingle giving the roof system a 130 mph rating.

Cobra III ridge vent is used for proper ventilation of your roofing system. GAF TimberTex (high-profile shingles) are used on hips and ridges.
Lead boots are used on the pipe jacks.
